of Staten Island, is in need of people who are hard working, dedicated and
enjoy helping those in need.
VOLUNTEERS ARE NEEDED IN THE PROGRAMS LISTED
8 HOUR HELP LINE
The 8 hour help line stands by Staten Island's Alzheimer's
community 8 hours a day 365 days a year, at no charge to callers. Manned
by experienced, trained volunteers who respond from the office, this valuable
resource offers information, referrals and support to family, caregivers and
anyone in need of help regarding Alzheimer's patients.
Volunteers must have compassion, a listening
ear and the ability to define caller's questions and concerns.
ALZHEIMER'S VOLUNTEER POSITIONS
Eight Caregiver Support groups are held at different times &
locations on the island. In addition we have one weekly Early Diagnosis
Patient & Spousal group, Social, and Caregiver Groups, one monthly
professional group and a monthly TV support group.
Volunteers for this position must have professional skills.
Organize & assist with daily functions of clerical
staff. Assist clerical staff with Xeroxing, light typing, and organizing
Positions are to assist with inputting data, preparing and
organizing reports, and clerical work for fund raising events.
Assist with day-to-day Accounts Payable processing, organizing,
and maintaining quality assurance.
Knowledge of Bookkeeping a must
Assist technology staff maintaining computers and implementing
Knowledge of DOS, Windows, Word Processing, & Databases
are a must.
Assist Help line & Administrative staff by routing callers,
and handling calls or visit Alzheimer's caregivers to offer assistance and
Assist in the thrift shop, which is open Monday through Saturday
from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
